Story
Prompt 11.12
Are you telling your story with “and”—or are you daring to use “but” and “therefore”? Life, like storytelling, needs tension and consequence. “And” adds details. “But” creates contrast. “Therefore” creates movement. It’s the difference between recounting events and creating meaning. When you reflect on your past or shape your next step, look for the turns, the pivots, the reactions. That’s where the real story lives.
Think about how you usually describe your life. Do you stack facts with “and”—listing what happened, one after the other? Or do you pause at the moments where something shifted, where a decision or challenge forced you onto a new path? Those “but” and “therefore” turns are where identity is shaped. They carry the weight of consequence, the proof of growth. If you were to retell your past year through this lens, what new meaning would surface? And as you look forward, how might you create more “therefores” that carry you into deeper purpose?
