Self-care
Prompt 02.09
Reflecting on the past year, how well have you supported self-care and nurtured your physical, emotional, and mental well-being each day? Are there daily habits or routines that have supported your health and happiness? What changes or improvements can you make in the coming year to ensure you're taking consistent care of yourself?
Self-care is much more than a luxury. Indeed, it is the very foundation of a balanced, fulfilling life. Yet, in the hustle of daily responsibilities, it’s easy to de-prioritize our own needs. This reflection is a chance to pause and assess how intentionally you’ve cared for all parts of yourself over the past year.
Physical
Did movement, nutrition, or restful sleep become non-negotiable, or did they slip through the cracks?
Emotional
How often did you acknowledge your feelings, set boundaries, or seek joy?
Resilience
What practices helped you manage stress, cultivate focus, or quiet unproductive self-talk?
By examining daily habits (like morning routines, mindfulness, or creative time), you may uncover what truly nourished you, and what might need re-imagining. The goal isn’t to give yourself a hard time, but to identify small, sustainable changes that could lead to profound improvements in the year ahead.
Reflection
Celebrate wins, no matter how small. Did a 10-minute walk become a ritual? Did journaling help process tough days?
Notice patterns: When did you feel most energized or drained? How did your habits align with those moments?
Be honest but kind: If self-care felt inconsistent, explore why. Was it time, guilt, or unclear priorities?
In the Year Ahead
Instead of overhauling your life, consider one actionable change for each area of well-being. Maybe it’s hydrating first thing in the morning (physical), scheduling weekly “worry time” to process emotions, or dedicating 5 minutes daily to gratitude (mental). Tiny steps compound. Start now.
