Screen
Prompt 05.07
Over the past year, how often did “just one episode” turn into three? Or a background show become the main event of your evening? It’s easy for TV time to slide from intentional relaxation into default distraction—filling space that might otherwise go to rest, reflection, or relationships.
That’s not to say television is the enemy. Stories can inspire, inform, and even bring people together. But when the screen becomes a nightly sedative, it’s worth asking: Is this supporting the life I want to live—or quietly stalling it?
Have your viewing habits aligned with your energy, your values, your goals? Or have they crept in as a time thief disguised as harmless entertainment?
In the year ahead, what would a more intentional relationship with your screen time look like? Maybe it’s setting a limit, choosing quality over quantity, or making space for screen-free evenings.
Because the goal isn’t to eliminate escape—it’s to make sure you’re not accidentally escaping your own life.
