Today’s question: What would change if every flicker of fear meant “step toward” instead of “step back”?
Fear is information. Some fear protects you from real harm; keep that. Much of the rest just marks the edge of growth. When you treat fear as a signal, not a stop sign, you turn avoidance into practice. You build capacity, one small approach at a time. Fear won’t vanish; it will evolve with you. Your job is to keep walking while it does.
Why this helps: moving toward meaningful fear rewires expectation. You trade dread for familiarity, shrink the unknown, and expand what you can handle next. Confidence becomes a record of reps, rather than a fickle mood.
Try this today:
Name one fear that matters.
Rate it 1–10. If it’s 8–10 and unsafe, redesign it smaller.
Take a 10-minute “toward” step (send the email, make the ask, show the draft).
Log what happened and what you learned.
