Firsts
Prompt 02.15
There’s something electric about a first: the first time you ride a bike, the first time you hear a song that changes you, the first time you say yes to something that scares you. Firsts carry a kind of energy, a sense of possibility that makes the world feel a little bigger, a little less predictable.
But as we get older, those moments can become rare. Routine takes over. We stick with what we know, what feels comfortable, what we’re already good at. And slowly, without realizing it, we stop stepping into the unknown altogether.
Think back: When was the last time you did something for the first time? What did it feel like? Were you exhilarated, terrified, or both?
Now ask yourself: What would it look like to invite more of that energy into your life?
Maybe it’s trying something small like a new recipe, a different route on your walk, or a conversation with someone you’ve never really spoken to. Or maybe it’s something bigger like learning a skill you’ve always been curious about, taking a leap toward something uncertain, or saying yes before you feel ready.
Firsts remind us that we’re still growing, still changing, still capable of surprise.
What’s a first you’re ready for?
