Edges
Prompt 02.28
Reflecting on the past year, when have you stepped to the edges of your comfort zone? What new experiences, challenges, or risks did you take, and how did they shape you? Were there moments when fear or uncertainty held you back, and what did you learn from those experiences? As you look ahead, where do you feel called to push your edges further, and how can you cultivate the courage to take those steps?
Growth rarely happens in the center of our comfort zones. It happens at the edges, where we feel stretched, challenged, and even a little scared. These edges are where we discover new strengths, perspectives, and possibilities. This prompt invites you to reflect on how you’ve expanded your boundaries this year and how you can continue to grow by leaning into discomfort in the year ahead.
It’s natural to feel resistance when faced with the unknown. But every time you step to the edge of your comfort zone, you prove to yourself that you’re capable of more than you thought. Even if the outcome isn’t perfect, the act of trying is a victory in itself. As you reflect, celebrate the times you’ve pushed your edges, and use any setbacks as fuel for future growth.
Things to Think About
The Leaps You Took: Think about the moments this year when you stepped outside your comfort zone. What did you do, and what motivated you to take that step? How did the experience change you?
The Hesitations: Were there times when fear or self-doubt held you back? What did those moments teach you about yourself, and how can you approach similar situations differently in the future?
The Growth: How have your edges shifted over the past year? What once felt impossible or intimidating that now feels more manageable?
Your Call to Expand: As you look ahead, where do you feel called to push your edges further? Is it in your career, relationships, personal growth, or something else? What’s one small step you can take to move in that direction?
Your comfort zone is a beautiful place, but nothing grows there. The edges, where uncertainty and possibility meet, are where the magic happens. As you move into the next 365 days, remember that courage isn’t the absence of fear, but the willingness to take action despite it. Each step you take at your edges is a step toward becoming the most expansive version of yourself.
Take a moment today to reflect on one edge you’d like to push in the coming year. What’s one small, brave step you can take to get started?
