Character
Prompt 09.05
Are you holding others to your rules, or using them to shape your own life with integrity? Personal philosophy is just that—personal. It’s meant to guide how you live, not how others should. Discipline directed inward builds strength. When turned outward, it often becomes judgment. Be firm with yourself. Be gentle with others. That’s where true character lives.
Think of a rule or standard you hold dear—punctuality, honesty, effort. How do you apply it to yourself compared with how you expect it from others? Do your expectations create connection, or tension? Reflect on moments where you’ve inspired by example versus when you’ve tried to enforce by demand. Which left a deeper mark? Consider where you might redirect the energy you spend correcting others back into refining your own practice. What would shift if your discipline became a quiet beacon rather than a loud burden?
