Alone
Prompt 06.28
Where in your life are you nodding along, not out of agreement—but out of fear that disagreeing might cost you comfort, connection, or approval?
We all like to think we’re independent thinkers. But the pull of belonging is strong. Sometimes we stay silent, not because we believe what others are saying, but because we don’t want to be the only one who disagrees.
The truth is, it’s often harder to think alone than to walk alone. Holding an unpopular view—especially one rooted in clarity and integrity—takes courage.
But the cost of always fitting in is steep. You might gain approval, but lose yourself in the process.
Ask yourself: is the comfort of fitting in now worth the discomfort of feeling misaligned later?
Don’t fear standing alone. Fear forgetting what you actually believe.
